The purpose of Competence Network for Led Solutions (LedTrix) is to produce new knowledge about the use of LED technology on the needs of lighting, medical and other industry. Competence Network for Led Solutions, which will be built up in the project, helps companies to utilize led technology in their own products.
The LedTrix project is based on multidisciplinary research collaboration of Eastern Finland micro optics research branch, North Karelia University of Applied Sciences and Electronics 3K Factory. The budget of this three year lasting project is 1.2 million euros. The project is funded by companies operating on led technology, EU, Tekes and participating research institutes.
Delivery and cumulating of research information is in the focus in this project. The aim is to multiply the speed of product development. ‘The generated expertise can be distributed through efficient delivery of research information
also to others than those working on LED technology’, Professor Pasi Vahimaa from the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the University of Eastern Finland states.
Results of research co-operation work has been utilized to date for example in traffic and pedestrian safety solutions of Havainne Oy, about which CEO Jonas Geust at Havainne Oy is particularly pleased.
‘Research approaches towards daily co-operation with companies and this develops our operations’, say Education and Development Manager Seija Tolonen from the Centre for Business and Engineering of North Karelia University of Applied Sciences and Research Manager Elina Havia from Electronics 3K Factory.
